Our tapered, double-plinth design raises the ML1s 10 inches off the floor, featuring an adjustable tilt-back to optimize time-alignment for various listening positions. Handcrafted in matched pairs, these made-to-order stands are available with selectable footer options optimized for different types of flooring. We offer them in a clear satin finish that enhances the beautiful natural grain of our air-dried Ambrosia Maple, as well as in our Natural Cherry, Deep Rosewood, and Satin Black toned finishes.
- Massive Solid Brass & Wood Construction: Each 16" x 16" Gibraltar stand is crafted from solid, air-dried Ambrosia maple, providing roughly three times the mass of the factory ML1 stands. Combined with the unique double-plinth design, this creates a dramatic performance upgrade—especially in listening rooms with concrete or engineered wood floors.
- Optimized Tilt-Back Design: These stands raise your speakers 10" off the floor with an easily adjustable tilt-back. This allows you to precisely align the tweeter with your listening position for peak sound quality. Functionally, the tilt-back enables the ML1s to fire over soundstage obstructions (like coffee tables) while maintaining the acoustic benefits of a low-mounted woofer. They will make your monitor speakers sound better than any other stand on the market—at any price.
- Inclusive Mounting Solution: Each pair of Maple Gibraltars includes brass supports for mounting your speakers (with selectable options), a matched pair of stands to receive the internal vibrations transferred out of the speaker cabinets, and pre-attached footers to couple the stands rigidly to the floor—with selectable options for optimizing the mounting of the ML1 on either hard floors or carpet.
Speaker Mounting & Support Options
We offer two brass support options for mounting and time-correcting ML1s.
- Standard Rear Supports: Our best-sounding option using sharp point contact that may slightly mare the bottom rear edge of the speakers.
- Radiused Rear Supports: Precision-machined brass supports with rounded contact surfaces and protect those edges against dings.
Footer & Alignment Options
Investing in Megafeet as alignment footers for tilting the speakers will make a greater difference than using them as pre-attached footers supporting the stands. If your budget permits, using Megafeet for both applications will yield even better sound.
- For Uncarpeted Floors (Default): Low Heavyfeet with short, sharp points offer the best-sounding standard footer option. Use the dropdown menu to adjust if needed.
- For Hardwood Floors: Radiused Low Heavyfeet feature a rounded bottom to avoid marring handsomely finished wood, resulting in only a very slight compromise in sound quality relative to sharp points.
- For Carpet or Rugs: Select Heavyfeet For Carpet or Low Megafeet For Carpet.
- Performance Note: We never recommend using Isoblocks as footers for speakers or as supports for speaker stands. Soft footers allow speakers to rock, which inevitably muddies the bass.
