• Unattached sets of Heavyfeet For Carpet are typically used directly under speakers and electronics to mount them on carpet without a platform or stand.

• 'Floating' speakers, amps, and other gear directly on carpet makes them sound worse than sitting on a hard surface on their stock feet. Bass is weaker and muddied, treble is smeared and rolled-off compared to the exact same gear rigidly mounted and optimally coupled to the solid subfloor below the carpet.

• When ordering Heavyfeet for Carpet, it is essential for the tip of the footer to contact the solid floor beneath. For carpet with padding more than ½" deep, order the thick carpet version which has longer points to penetrate to the subfloor.  For thinner commercial wall-to-wall carpet less than ½" deep, the thin carpet version with its somewhat shorter points will sound slightly better.

• The default option for these footers is for a set of three Heavyfeet for thick carpet.  If you prefer, choose the version for thin carpet from the "Point Type' dropdown menu.  If there is any doubt, use the thick carpet version. For these footers to serve their purpose, the points must penetrate all the way through the carpet to make firm contact with floor underneath.

• You can improve your sound even further if you use our complete Vibration Control System.  This is an especially worthwhile investment if your subfloor is concrete, stone, or plywood. Both bass and treble will improve dramatically.

• We recommend using unattached footers in sets of three to avoid shimming.  One exception: long, very narrow may need four footers for stability.  Using four may require shimming the height of one footer to compensate for slight unevenness of the surface below.  Other than improved stability, there is no sonic advantage to using four.  Please call 1-888-236-2753 to order quantities other than sets of three, or email [email protected].
