Clearview Excalibur Digital Ribbon Interconnect with PLUS Upgrade
Our radically different digital interconnect designs consistently deliver especially large
sonic gains compared to conventional, up-to-$6000 coax cables. We demonstrated, to
the owner of a dCS Elgar DAC, that adding one of our digital ICs to a $1000 Meridian
DAC produced clearly better sound than his $10,000 wonder with a $2000 Valhalla IC.
Why? Our impedance maximizing technology suppresses jitter much more effectively
than the industry standard 75 ohm spec (a spec that has yet to be ear-tested). Adding in
our uniquely thin conductors and dielectrics, solder-less monomolecular silver termination
interfaces, and incomparably minimalist RCAs yields unparalleled transparency
and tonal accuracy.
Our new Excalibur Digital replaces the previous Double Helixís thin round conductors
with even thinner copper ribbons plus network chips derived from the expensive
Omega Mikros. I hear fuller, better-articulated bass plus more nuanced ambience,
midrange detail and treble airiness. All this simply adds up to a digital cable that we
guarantee to sound closer to live music than the Audioquest WEL, Crystal Dreamline,
MIT Oracle, Purist Canorus, Siltech Golden Eagle, Stealth Sextet, Synergistic Tesla
and Tara Zero Gold. 30-day money back.
THE PLUS OPTION: Another Step Up
All Clearview wires are available in a PLUS version, using conductors with our new stress-relieved metallurgy. The PLUS Option yields two primary upgrades:
ē Decreases brightness and grain in high frequencies, reducing edginess in the upper treble without sacrificing detail; this is particularly noticeable
with music coming from a digital source (i.e. CD players, computers, and iPods). The breathiness of singers and flutes, the metallic ring of cymbals is
better articulated and less abrasive.PLUS is especially
beneficial for digital interconnects sources, significantly reducing listening fatigue.
ē PLUS lowers the soundstage noise floor, resulting in a quieter, more blacker background. This makes the most difference in quiet passages:
held guitar or piano chords sustain longer and resonate more clearly as they fade into silence. Newly discovered details and nuances emerge from the
negative space of the music on good recordings.
For fans of well-recorded acoustic music, small group jazz, or chamber music, we recommend PLUS without hesitation. Listening to loud,
compressed recordings, the improvements will be audible but much more subtle.
||Got the cable
|I got my Excalibur+ today and straight out of the box it has more detail than my current cable. It is a tiny bit bright but that will smooth out after break in. I noticed that my previous cable sounded natural but what I didnít know is that it didnít transfer all of the music. Your cable passes on more details on both the top and the low end. For example like hearing the singer inhale between phrases during an acoustic piece of the sound of the hammer hitting the piano strings. I am surprised and pleased.
Please tell me how your $300 digital cable compares to this one as Iím sure Iíll want to compare after this one breaks in. I am glad you suggested I compare because I had no clue how much music wasnt being passed through with my other cable.|
||Excaliber Plus Digital Cable
|I purchased this cable very recently from a second party and am really happy with my purchase. The cable is still not fully broken-in yet, but right out of the box was a very appreciable improvement over my former digital cable. Acoustic instruments sound a good deal more
natural and there is a more intimate groove to the music.
Even though I use my turntable a great deal, my system is for practical purposes all digital the way it is setup and this cable plays an important role in all my listening. I also have your USB cable, but have nothing to compare it with. Im quite sure it is equally as good for its purpose and the purchase of the Excaliber Plus has only strengthened that viewpoint.
I look forward to the purchase of many more Mapleshade products.

|Before you upgrade to a new digital component try this cable. In my system it bested my previous digital cable which was $1500 retail. It lets me hear treble and bass extension that I never new was missing until I listened through this cable. Very accurate and satisfying.|
|Abosolutely stunning! The performance from these cables is so unbeliveable and jaw-dropping, well, you just wont believe it until you hear it! The clarity and detail resulting from this cable addition along with the Mapleshade Double Helix speaker cable with +plus has changed my whole understanding of what pure audio is all about. Once you listen, you will be hooked, and any further equipment reviews you read about or listen to will be forever suspect unless attached with Mapleshade cables. My $6,000 system sounds like a $100,000+ gem thanks to thses cables. Thank you Mapleshade!|
