RESTORED AND ULTRA-MODIFIED VINTAGE H.H. SCOTT TUBE RECEIVERS
An All-In-One High End System: Amp, Pre-Amp, FM, Phono Stage
Several years ago, Pierre and a friend whos a vintage tube specialist discovered the magic of 60s small-tube Scott amps. These small-tube amps had startling low bass, unexpectedly clean and punchy, together with a soaring treble airiness. The bass and treble of the famous big tube amps (EL-34s, KT-88s, 6550s, etc.) sounded soggy by comparison. The two of them spent a year honing mods--testing one mod at a time-- to see how far they could take these little wonders. A year later, the modded prototypes were delivering stunning symphonic crescendos, lovely airiness, in-the-room presence, and amazing bass. Now that we've been turning out our modded amps for seven years, we're receiving a steady stream of raves from customers who replaced there $5k-$10K solid state and tube amps with our little Scotts.
In our current production the factory pre-amp stage is replaced with our own passive stage that beats any external tube pre-amp up to $7,500. The two factory power supplies have been upgraded in major ways. And included is a superb Scott phono stage that weve further upgraded.
For a customer with very limited space, we modded a 340 Scott receiver with the identical mods we use for our separate amps and tuners. The hot-rodded receiver
sounded just as stunning! After listening for only 30 minutes, Pierre suddenly realized our single chassis receiver actually sounded better than an $11,000 solid state system hed heard a couple of days earlier ($2000
tuner, $3000 preamp and $6000 amp). In contrast,
the cost of our fully restored and thoroughly modded Scott receiver is $1495. We also offer a rarer, drop-dead gorgeous AM-FM receiver. 30-day money back.
